I'm Mrs. Hurley, and I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This will be my eleventh year teaching at Pecan Grove Elementary. I have experience in teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Second grade. This year, I am excited to continue teaching math and science in First grade! I am so thankful to be at Pecan Grove and work with amazing administrators, teachers, and parents. I grew up in Sugar Land and attended Fort Bend ISD schools. In 2006, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a second major in Interpersonal Communication. I also received my Master's degree and teacher certification from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2009. I married my best friend in 2010, and we have two wonderful sons, Braden and Logan. We also have three silly dogs: Mikey, a Catahoula, April, another Catahoula and Leo, a Hound mix. In addition to being a teacher and a mom, I love to read, travel, and spend time with family. I love incorporating  technology as much as possible throughout our day.  I think learning should be fun, especially in First grade! When you walk by my room, you will see us moving, playing, singing, collaborating, and learning by doing. Like my favorite cartoon teacher Mrs. Frizzle says, "take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" It's going to be the best year ever, and I can't wait to be part of your child's learning adventure!
