I'm Mrs. Hurley, and I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This will be my sixth year teaching Kindergarten at Pecan Grove Elementary. I have experience in teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K. I am so thankful to be at Pecan Grove and work with amazing administrators, teachers, and parents. I grew up in Sugar Land and attended Fort Bend ISD schools. In 2006, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a second major in Interpersonal Communication. I also received my Master's degree and teacher certification from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2009. I married my best friend in 2010, and we have a wonderful son, Braden, born in 2012.We also have two silly dogs: Mikey, a Catahoula, and Leo, a Hound mix. In addition to being a teacher and a mom, I love to read, go to the museum and zoo, and spend time with family.I love incorporating technology as much as possible throughout our day. (Video conferencing is my favorite!) I think learning should be fun, especially in Kindergarten! When you walk by my room, you will see us moving, playing, singing, collaborating, and learning by doing. I truly believe that I am meant to be a Kindergarten teacher. Like my favorite cartoon teacher Mrs. Frizzle says, "take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" It's going to be the best year ever, and I can't wait to be part of your child's learning adventure this year!
