My name is Melissa Alderfer, and I am a special education resource/inclusion/co-teacher for third, fourth and fifth grade. I am also the special education team leader.
Mission Bend Elementary has been a part of my life since 1997. My first introdction to the campus came when my oldest child began kindergarten here many years ago. Since that time, all four of my children have attended school here at MBE, and ultimately each of them graduated from George Bush High School. I have experienced Mission Bend as a parent, a volunteer, a PTA President, a substitute teacher, a special education aide, and most recently as a special education teacher. Teaching here is not just a job; it is my home, my community, and my family.
It is my goal to inspire and equip all children to grow and learn and to push the boundaries of what they think is possible. It is my hope that every child that walks through my door will feel safe, loved, respected and challenged. I also hope that they too will find a home, a community, and a family here at Mission Bend Elementary.
