I began teaching in 2008 and began at First Colony MS in January 2012. I grew up in Pearland, TX and graduated from Pearland High School in 2003. After graduation, I attended the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where I played clarinet and bass clarinet in many of the University Ensembles, including the Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Opera Orchestra, Cougar Marching Band, and several chamber ensembles.
While in college, I taught private clarinet and saxophone lessons in Clear Creek, Cypress-Fairbanks, Conroe, and Magnolia Independent School Districts. After college graduation, I became the Assistant Director of Bands at Sugar Land Middle School for three years, then the Music Specialist at Heritage Rose Elementary, before coming to First Colony Middle School as the Associate Director of Bands in January 2012.
At First Colony Middle School, I teach the beginning woodwind classes and am in charge of the Symphonic and Concert Bands.
My professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and the International Clarinet Association.
Outside of school, I enjoy performing with the Houston Symphonic Band and Clarinet Choir, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
