My name is Judith Yap. This is myfourth year teaching fifth grade at Cornerstone Elementary but Fort Bend ISD has been my home for the last 18 years. I cherish being in this school, among school children, who are eager to embrace learning everyday. Their enthusiasm for learning makes me want to share what knowledge I have. I share Cornerstone's belief of impacting the world one chameleon at a time. This year, we will be working to grow excellence together in every task we do.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, from Ateneo de Davao, a Jesuit University, and from University of Houston - Downtown with Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. I am ESL certified and have fulfilled requirements to teach the Gifted and Talented. I have taught Kindergarten through High School but enjoy the challenge of fifth grade.
This year I will still be in a self-contained classroom. I will be teaching ELA, Math, Reading, and Science. My students and I will focus on engagement and exploration, as well as integration. We will be reading different genres, learning history and culture, creating models, doing investigations, coming up with presentations, etc. I hope that this year will be a great year for growth and excellence in my students
