Ms. Cyndi Ellstrom
I have often been asked why I decided to become a teacher. I believe it was a calling that derived from my own innate love of learning. The decision didn’t come to me as a sudden epiphany. It developed gradually and naturally and I can honestly say I never really considered any other profession. By the time I was filling out applications for college, teaching was a forgone conclusion.
“Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of becoming.” –Goethe
I believe that each child is a unique individual with unlimited potential. Every child has greatness inside. As an educator it is my privilege to help my students realize that they are special and guide them as they develop their talents and skills. I want to inspire students, to change their lives, so that they discover life paths that they had never considered before.
In my classroom I strive to provide an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. I hope to infect my students with my enthusiasm and passion for learning. I endeavor to allow opportunities for the children to share and express their passions. As for myself, I am inspired by my students – they challenge me to continue learning and growing. They make me a better person, and for that I am truly grateful.
