Ryan is beginning his 6^th year teaching and is joining the Clements HS team from Kempner HS. He has 4 years of experience at the High School level, and 1 year as a Junior High Head Director when first moving to TX two years ago. His past work experience includes Kempner HS in Fort Bend ISD, Memorial Parkway JHS in Katy ISD, and the esteemed Norman North High School under the direction of Tony Gonzalez (retired) in Norman, OK.

Ryan’s choirs have consistently won superior ratings at contest since he started teaching. He couldn't be more excited about getting to work with the enthusiastic students at Clements and his friend Janet Menzie this year.

Ryan has a Masters of Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Kansas State University where he studied with Dr. Julie Yu-Oppenheim and Dr. Joshua Oppenheim. He assisted in teaching choral music at KSU as well as taught undergraduate courses in Music Theory and Aural Skills. Prior to this, Ryan completed a K-12 music certification program and Music Education degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS where he studied conducting with Dr. John Paul Johnson (now the Head Choir Director at George Ranch HS) and voice with Dr. Hugo A. Vera, Dr. Christian Elser, and Mr. Lane Johnson.

Ryan is originally from Leavenworth, KS. He student taught in the Lawrence and Baldwin school districts at Baldwin JHS and Prairie Park Elementary.

Ryan is the Assistant Choir Director at Clements and is the lead teacher for the Men’s groups along with the Concert Women and Music Appreciation; and then assists with the Varsity Mixed and A Cappella Women. He is a member of ACDA, TCDA, NATS, NAFME, Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
