I am originally from Vidor, TX. This will be my second year at Thornton Middle School. I will be teaching Pre-AP Algebra and 8th Grade Math. Before working at Thornton, I was at Clements High School for three years. At Clements I taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 and I was the Assistant Head Football Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Inside Linebackers Coach and Head Girls Track Coach. Before coming to Clements I was at Westbury High School for one year where I was the Defensive Coordinator and taught Precalculus. Before that I spent six years at Hightower High School where I was the Defensive Line Coach and taught Precalculus. Also, I spent a year and a half at Northbrook High School where I was a Freshmen Football Coach and taught Geometry and Physical Education. Throughout my career I have also coached Powerlifting, Baseball, Soccer, and Basketball. I have also taught Geometry, Pre-AP Geometry, Math Models, and Advanced Quantitative Reasoning. I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology and Mathematics with Education Certification from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I truly believe that hard work does pay off. I have experienced it in my personal life and in the lives of my students and athletes over the past nine years. This coincides with my favorite quote from a great man known as James Tiberius Kirk - "I don't believe in no-win scenarios."
