Ms. Juliane Woolslayer

This will be my 2nd year teaching at JRCTC and my 15th year of teaching. Prior to coming to Reese, I taught AA and PAP physics, Astronomy, PLTW IED,  chemistry, geology, biology, math, middle school science and Geographic Information Systems. I love that I will be able to teach Forensic Science this year. I can apply the principles of many different sciences to solving crimes. I also worked as an environmental geologist, Geographic Information Systems specialist and a wireline petroleum engineer on both offshore and onshore oil rigs. My graduate research in Hydrology at New Mexico Tech was funded by NASA. I also earned a M.S. in School Counseling at SWOSU.

Some facts about me

--I have a daughter named Hazel (4rd grade) and a son named Zane (6th grade). I have 5 cats named Fluffy, Zareef, Kitkat and our new fosters Tesla and Fanta.

--I am originally from Philadelphia. You can ask me to say ‘water’ the correct way.

--My first teaching position was in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii. The original school had been swept away by a Tsunami in 1946. I went back to Hawaii in 2018 to see the active lava flows.
--I hang glided in Switzerland and Brazil.

--I watched the world cup in 2018 in Iceland and did the Viking chant.
--I was a white water rafting guide.
--My 23 and Me genetic profile states that I am part Neanderthal.
--I have ‘lived’ in over 10 different places and have traveled to over 50 countries. I have seen the Giza Pyramids, Shaolin Temple, Great Wall, Chicken Itza, Taj Mahal, Forbidden city, Panama Canal, Christ the Redeemer in Rio, Louvre, Hermitage, Niagara Falls, Hoover Dam, Eiffel Tower, Leaning tower of Pisa, Acropolis, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, Mount Kilimanjaro, northern lights and the Keck observatory.

Please trust in the scientific process. Stay home to save lives.
