"Nine tenths of education is encouragement." – Anatole France
That is exactly why students in my classes often hear me mentioning, "You don't have to be the best to do your best."
I grew up in Missouri City, attending Fort Bend schools from elementary through high school. After graduating from Dulles High School, I attended Texas Christian University, where I competed on the varsity swim team and more importantly, earned a degree in Elementary Education. I later earned a Masters degree from Houston Baptist University in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis on Instructional Technology.
I began my teaching career at Dulles Elementary in January of 1990. I taught third grade there for eight years, and then I became an Instructional Technology Specialist. After being a full time ITS for several years, I had the role of half PE teacher and half ITS. I now enjoy teaching PE full time at Sienna Crossing!
In addition to teaching, I enjoyed coaching the summer league swim team in Lake Olympia. While I will no longer be the head coach, I do look forward to helping out when I can. I also love spending time with my family, watching our son and daughter participate in their activities and golfing when I can.
My husband is the principal of Ridge Point High School. I love the fact that the kids that I teach are future Panthers! Our son teaches U.S. History at Clements High School in FBISD, and we have a Ridge Point Panther freshman daughter.
