Welcome to second grade!!!! Room 206 is a busy place full of amazing readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, and historians! I am a native Houstonian with a childhood full of memories formed in the Memorial area. When my days were over as a Memorial High School Mustang, I attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. After my graduation in 1993, I returned to Houston and spent the first 14 years of my teaching career at Outley Elementary in Alief ISD. I began my career in 4th grade, spent many years in 2nd grade, challenged myself for 2 years in the Resource department and enjoyed several years in 1st grade. For three consecutive years, I was nominated into “Who's Who of America's Teachers” by former students. Those nominations mean the world to me because my students are what truly matters. In 2008, it was time for a change. That change brought me to SCE as a 2nd grade teacher and then as a parent. What a blessing and privilege it was to bring my daughter to school with me for her entire elementary education where she was blessed with outstanding teachers and experiences which built a strong foundation of academic excellence! I am absolutely thrilled to work with the fabulous 2nd grade team and the amazing people who walk through our doors every day.
