I am excited to be in my seventh year of teaching at Sienna Crossing Elementary. I have been teaching for sixteen years, having come to the classroom later in life. Before teaching I worked part time in several different pre-school settings. Teaching has always been a passion for me because it combines my love for children with a strong desire to express my creativity. I enjoy designing engaging lessons for my students that allow them to develop a lifelong love of learning.
I come from a long line of Texas Longhorns and graduated from The University of Texas in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I met my husband of 35 years while in college and through his career have lived all over the United States. We have two grown children, Jennifer and James, who are both Baylor graduates currently pursuing their careers in Dallas and Austin.
One thing my students learn about me right away is my love for dogs. I have a Great Dane named Lucy and a Great Pyrenees named Finn who seem to find their way into many aspects of my classroom. Not in person, but through stories, anecdotes and examples.
I look forward to many more years of teaching and working with the amazing Navigators at Sienna Crossing Elementary.
