I love teaching music at Lexington Creek. The 2018-19 school year is my sixteenth year at LCE. A native Houstonian, I returned to Houston after working for nine years at the American International School of Budapest, Hungary. Before going abroad, I taught elementary music in CyFair and in northern Virginia. My credentials include a Bachelor of Music degree from Baylor University and a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University. I have also completed graduate courses in Education through Lehigh University.
I enjoy playing the oboe and English horn, and have played both professionally. I currently volunteer as principal oboist in the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra. In my spare time, I love to travel and see other parts of the world. I have been fortunate to visit other countries and learn about many different cultures during the time I lived overseas. Every summer I spend a month in Europe working for an international education program for teachers and administrators in overseas schools. Some of my other interests include running and reading.
I look forward to another year of teaching the students of Lexington Creek the joys of music.
