• Matchbook Club meets every Friday morning in the library before school at 8:00 am.  During this time we practice identifying quotes from books in preparation for the competition in April.
The Fort Bend ISD Matchbook! Reading Competition is designed to promote and foster a love of reading in students. Reading as a team, students who are strong readers model their love of reading to their peers and develop leadership and team building skills. Less enthusiastic readers are exposed to various of types of reading and have an opportunity to read high quality books to encourage future book selection. Matchbook! motivates all students to find their perfect book match!

The  elementary and middle school book lists are comprised of award winning books selected by the Texas Library Association, American Library Association and a variety of other sources.  The lists are balanced overall to provide student readers a wide selection of genres such as contemporary fiction, non-fiction, mystery, poetry and other more specifically themed books. During the contest, student teams respond to quotations from books or questions about theme, characters, setting or plot.
Each competition lasts approximately 2 hours.  All competitions are held at the FBISD Administration Annex building - 3119 Sweetwater Blvd. - in the Main Auditorium.
