Shannon Wallace is currently in her sixteenth year of teaching, and tenth year as Director of Bands for James Bowie Middle School. Her duties include conducting the Honors Band, assisting with the Symphonic Band and Concert Band, and teaching beginning woodwind classes. Under her direction bands have consistently received the Texas UIL Sweepstakes Award. In 2005-2006 Mrs. Wallace was named Fort Bend ISD Rookie Teacher of the Year.
 
Previous to joining JBMS, Mrs. Wallace was Associate Director of Bands at First Colony Middle School in Fort Bend ISD. In 2004, Mrs. Wallace completed her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and in 2011 she completed her Master’s degree in Education Administration at Lamar University. While attending TSU, Mrs. Wallace actively participated in the Bobcat Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Tau Beta Sigma, a service organization for band.
 
Mrs. Wallace is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
