My name is Chavon Kelly. I was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Gary, IN. I have no children, unless you count my spoiled dog, Bailey. I am a 15 year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Nu Lambda and Gamma Psi Omega, respectively. I graduated from Indiana University with my B.S. in Mathematics and I am currently completing coursework to obtain Master's degree at the University of Houston.. While in undergrad, I was a substitute teacher in Gary Community School Corporation for three years. When the school system went on strike, I began work in the social services field. I was a Residential Coordinator for the Department of Family and Children Services and later a Residential Coordinator for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. I returned to education when I relocated to Houston in September 2012. I am the Team Leader of the Rose Women's Ministry Planning Team at Faith Family Church, Pastor Stanley L Scott. I am also member of our Special Events Team and Harvey Disaster Relief Team. My hope is that our children become educated, healthy, happy, and successful adults and I count it a blessing to have the privilege to contribute to that process. I am excited about equipping and inspiring our children to be more that they can imagine with the rest of the faculty of Fort Bend ISD.
