Greetings!  My name is Veronica Turner and this is my tenth year at Christa McAuliffe, and in Fort Bend ISD. I am excited to be in 6th Grade Math and to be able to use my 19 years of elementary, middle, and high school math education experience to assist our students.  I also serve our campus as the Math Department Head.

I was born and raised in Logansport, Louisiana and attended LSU and University of New Orleans.  GEAUX Tigers!  Fight on Pirates! After graduating college, I moved to Houston in 1993 and pursued a career with a major insurance company. I enjoyed traveling the country and world for both business and pleasure. After subbing for a few months, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a teacher.  I obtained my standard teaching certificate in 2006, and I am qualified to teach Mathematics grades 4-8.   I am the proud parent of 1 son, Malcolm, who is a Ridge Point High School and LSU  graduate. When we are away from school, we volunteer in the Perfect Praise Children's Ministry and the Youth Ministry at our church and travel home to visit family and friends.

My 9 years here at Christa McAliffe and Fort Bend ISD have been an awesome experience.  I have served as Team Leader for Grade 8 Math, Math Department Head, and Math Specialist for the campus.  I was honored to be selected the 2015 - 2016 and 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year for the school.  Here in Hawk Nation, expectations are high and we will work tirelessly, to prepare each and every Hawk for Success.  I’m here for you anytime, so please email me with any questions.  I look forward to a great year in math world!
