Hello!
My name is Elizabeth Strange, and I am your 9th grade English teacher this year! I earned a B.S. in Secondary Education: English at Baylor University. I became a teacher because I knew that I wanted to help bring the change I wished to see in the world. I have stayed in education for over 10 years because of the relationships I get to build with students, and the growth I see in their character, work ethic and confidence is a reward in itself.
This will be my 3rd year at DHS, but my 11th year in Fort Bend ISD—and as a Viking (My first 8 years were spent at Dulles Middle School). I am also the assistant swim coach, and I love I am excited about meeting all of my amazing new students, and learning how to do virtual school together! It’s going to be a learning curve for all of us, but we will brave these uncharted waters together as a team. A fun fact about me is that I have traveled to 19 different countries and lived in 3 of them! My favorite book of all time is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but the books that have had the most impact on me these past few years have been: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, Poet X by Elizabeth Acevado, The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui, and Dare to Lead by Brené Brown.
Can’t wait to learn and grow together this school year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Strange
