Mrs. Janet Menzie
Janet Menzie is the head choir director at Clements High School in Sugar Land. Prior to her position there, she taught junior high choral music in Katy for 12 years and private lessons for 16. Choral music has been a constant in her life from her own junior high and high school years, and she subsequently received her bachelor degree in music from Central College, Iowa and her master of music degree in voice from the University of Southern California where she was a member of the USC Chamber Singers. Her participation in choir continued with her membership in the Bakersfield (CA) Master Chorale, Midland-Odessa Symphony Chorus, Alaska Chamber Singers, and now in her fourth year in the Houston Symphony Chorus, where she serves as rehearsal conductor. Janet is first and foremost a wife and mom, having raised three daughters with her husband, Bob. In her spare time, she tends her garden, cooks, travels, hikes, works as an occasional ranch hand on the family acreage in Paige, and serves on the outreach committee at her church.
