B.S. Physical Education

Mr. Johnny DeJesus

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, I graduated college from 'The Big Apple' as a collegiate gymnast with a BS in Physical Education.  I started my career as a school teacher in The Bronx, NY where I taught P.E. and coached gymnastics for 5 years. In 2007, I moved to Houston, Texas to start a family with my wife, who was born & raised in Sugar Land and is now a second grade teacher at Madden Elementary as well!  I began teaching for Fort Bend ISD right away and enjoyed my time as PE teacher at TowneWest Elementary.  In 2010, I transferred to help open a brand new school for Fort Bend ISD: Heritage Rose Elementary.  2013 was an exciting year for me, as I was named Heritage Rose's Teacher of the Year and moved on to receive the honor of Fort Bend ISD's District Teacher of the Year.  In 2015, I became the P.E. teacher for Madden Elementary's grand opening year and am enjoying my time with my wonderful students in a welcoming neighborhood. While I am not a Texas native, I like to think of myself as an honorary Texan and truly love working for, and raising my 3 children, in Fort Bend County.
