This is my 15th year teaching, but my first year at Marshall High School. I grew up in Fort Bend schools and I remained in Houston for college, attending the University of Saint Thomas where I graduated with my B.A. in Mathematics. In the summer of 2014 I completed my Master's degree from University of Houston-Clear Lake in Instructional Design and Technology. I began my teaching career at Elkins High School then I moved to Hightower and I was part of the group to open Ridge Point High School where I remained until this year.
This year I am beginning a new adventure as the AVID Coordinator at Thurgood Marshall High School. My passion for AVID started before I was an official teacher as a long term substitute for an AVID and Geometry teacher at Hightower High School way back in 2002. Through my time at Elkins, Hightower and Ridge Point I worked to get back into AVID while incorporating AVID strategies in my classroom. The belief that all students can achieve futures beyond what they have imagined is central to who I am. I am excited about this year and I look forward to watching students grow.
