Welcome to Principles of Health Science at Ridge Point High School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a little bit about myself. I was born in McAllen, TX in an area known as the Rio Grande Valley and raised in a very sheltered, loving and humble environment in the north part of Mexico. I migrated to the United States at the age of 15 years old and later graduated from Edinburg High School. I enjoy helping others and decided from very young age to pursue a career in the health related profession. I obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Dietetics from the University of Texas - Pan American in Edinburg, TX. I became a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and worked twenty two years in different health care facilities (clinical, community and private). I am a proud mother of three wonderful sons whom I live to love and educate. I decided to challenge myself and start teaching high school. This is my seventh (fourth year at RPHS) year teaching Health Science Technology and I can honestly say I enjoy teaching, sharing experiences and motivating my students in becoming future health care professionals. I am blessed to be a teacher (and parent) here at the 'Home of Scholars and Champions!'
