Mrs. Stephanie Russell

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. I taught Speech, Dance and PALS at Spring High School while also being the Assistant Drill Team Director. While at Spring HS, I served on numerous committees and was selected as Rookie Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 school year.For five years, I taught English I, II, and III at Austin High School while being the Student Council Sponsor. In 2017-2018, I was a finalist for Teacher of the Year. This is my 4th year at Travis High School, and I am the English II Team Lead, English Department Head, AMBUSH Mentor Teacher, English II AAC teacher and AVID IV teacher. In 2022, I was selected as Travis High School Teacher of the Year and became a district finalist for FBISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.  I am starting my 12th year of teaching this year and am excited to see my students grow into strong writers and readers. My husband, Mark, is the engineering teacher and Boys' Golf Coach at THS, and we have two beautiful blonde-curly headed daughters that you will see at many THS extracurricular activites.

Teacher Tutorial Schedule

  • Tutorials are available Tuesday afternoons at 2:50pm and Thursday mornings at 6:45am, or by appointment.
