Mr. Austin Ishee

Mr. Austin Ishee is in his first year as Director of Choirs at Kempner High School and is brand new to Fort Bend ISD. Mr. Ishee has 12 years of music education experience, including five years of service in Cy-Fair ISD and seven years in Tomball ISD.

Mr. Ishee is a passionate musician and choir director. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. Mr. Ishee has taught students in grades 5-12 and adults in church and community choirs. He has sung in many professional choruses, such as the Houston Bach Society and the Houston Symphony Chorus. He has served as the Director of Traditional Music at Spring Woods United Methodist Church in Houston, TX, and Assistant Conductor to International Voices Houston. Alongside teaching at Kempner, Mr. Ishee is a staff section leader in the Chorale at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Houston, TX. In his free time, he loves cooking, traveling, exploring the city, and being with his friends. 

Mr. Ishee is excited about teaching the students at Kempner High School and cannot wait to witness the great things that are in store for the KHS Choir Program!
