About Me

Welcome to Early College High School English 1 AAC! I have been teaching students from Early Childhood to College for the last 10 years. I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach ninth grade English!   This is a huge transition year for our students here at Marshall High School. Students are developing post-secondary skills that will last them beyond high school; therefore, we will dive deep into English concepts such as reading and writing to help develop life-long readers and writers. This course sets the foundation for future courses in the early college program.

Meanwhile, I grew up in the Southbay of Los Angeles and graduated from California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). Although I grew up in LA, I spent my summers in Austin, Texas. Once I graduated from CSUCI, I moved to the Austin area and received my Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2016 from Concordia University of Texas. Since 2018, I have been an adjunct professor at Huston Tillotson University.

Lastly, in my spare time, I love spending time with family, doing self-care, and being a life-long learner. Marshall High School is such a wonderful place to learn and I know it's going to be a great year in 9th grade.
