Welcome to Early College High School English 1 AAC! I have been teaching students from Early Childhood to College for the last 10 years. I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach ninth grade English! This is a huge transition year for our students here at Marshall High School. Students are developing post-secondary skills that will last them beyond high school; therefore, we will dive deep into English concepts such as reading and writing to help develop life long readers and writers. This course sets the foundation for future courses in the early college program.
Meanwhile, I grew up in the Southbay of Los Angeles and graduated from California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). Although I grew up in LA, I spent my summers in Austin, Texas. Once I graduated from CSUCI, I moved to the Austin area and received my Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2016 from Concordia University of Texas. Since 2018, I have been an adjunct professor at Huston Tillotson University.
Lastly, in my spare time I love spending time with family, doing self care, and being a life-long learner. Marshall High School is such a wonderful place to learn and I know it's going to be a great year in 9th grade.
