Hello! I am John Lee Bonner, the Choir Director at William B. Travis High School in Richmond, Texas, where I conduct all choral ensembles and teach AP Music Theory. From 2018-2022, I served as Choir Director at Victoria East High School and Director of Music Ministries at Trinity Episcopal Church in Victoria. I also worked with Theatre Victoria as the Music Director for shows (Honky Tonk Laundry and Legally Blonde the Musical) and the annual Triple Threat Musical Theater Summer Camp (Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., Seussical JR.). Prior to Victoria, I was Choir Director and Assistant Band Director at Friona High School, where I also taught AP Music Theory. While in Victoria, I served on the Board of Directors for the Victoria Bach Festival. I also volunteered on the Leadership Committee for the Texas Choral Directors Association, am committed to various campus and department committees, and have provided mentorship to new teachers. I also served as the Region XIV Secretary for the Texas Music Educators Association.

I am committed to inclusive education, inclusive language, and social justice issues. 

Conferences

Virtual or in-person parent/teacher/student conferences may be scheduled by appointment. My conference period is daily from 1:02-1:50. Before/after school conferences can also be arranged as needed.
