Dr. Laura Dalton

Hello! I am excited to serve my sixth year at Walker Station Elementary. I was previously the Math Specialist for five years, and now I am so happy to be a 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies teacher, as well as the 3rd grade Team Leader. I have been an educator for over 18 years and I have worked with all grade levels from Pre-K through 5th Grade. Believe it or not, most of my teaching experience has been in ELA! I previously taught in Alief ISD and I have been working for Fort Bend ISD for 17 years. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of St. Thomas, my Master of Science in Administration at the University of Houston-Victoria, and my Doctorate of Higher Education and Adult Leadership at Walden University. I love reading books and I especially love reading to my students and with them! I enjoy fostering a love of reading and writing with my students. I believe all children can learn in a variety of ways, when nurtured, and by maintaining high expectations. I enjoy listening to live music and reading mystery novels in my free time. I am married and have one adult son and three wonderful teenage step-children, and a lovely Black Labrador, Delilah!
