About Me: Jose Antonio Hernandez 

Hello students and parents! My name is Jose Antonio Hernandez and I will be your math teacher this school year, so let me share with you a couple of things about me: 

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela a long long time ago. My father was a math professor for 55+ years and my mother was an elementary school teacher. 

I graduated from college with a Bachelors of Science in Materials Engineering and later, earned an MBA in International Business. I lived for several years in Germany and became fluent in the German language. After many years working in the private sector, I decided to join the “family business” and become a math teacher! I joined George Bush High School this year and I am very glad to be here. 

When I'm not at school, I spend my time with my wife, Vicky, and our two dogs, Chacho and Bianca. I have two kids, but I am an empty nester - my daughter graduated from Texas A&M in December and moved to Dallas for work and my son is currently in his second year at A&M. 

I am excited to team up with parents to contribute to your children's education and I am excited to see your students in my classroom where we will do everything to help you learn and become passionate about math!
