Degrees and Certifications:
B.M. in Violin Performance B.M.E. in Instrumental Music Education M.M.E. in Music Education
I am so excited to be a part of the SLMS community this year! This will be my seventh year of teaching orchestra. I grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY where I started playing violin at the age of six. I had some amazing music teachers growing up who continue to inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. After high school, I went to college in the Midwest. I hold bachelors’ degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in both instrumental music education and violin performance. I also have a master’s degree in music education from the Indiana University Jacobs’ School of Music. I moved to Texas in 2016 and was previously teaching in Tomball. When I’m not teaching orchestra, I love to run, cook, do yoga, and spend time with my two pets, Kingsley (black lab) and Tonks (tabby cat).
