Upon graduating from high school in Pleasanton Texas, I headed to Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State University) where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, minoring in Anthropology. Eat ‘em up Cats!!
After graduation, I accepted a position at SLMS where I taught seventh and eighth grade ELA for twelve years. In 2012, I transferred to JBMS to teach eighth grade ELA. I was also the Journalism/Yearbook sponsor. In 2017, I joined the team at Macario Garcia Middle School. This will be my 20th year in Fort Bend ISD.
Education is something that has been ever-present in my life. My parents, both master teachers, retired after 35 years in education. I belong in the classroom, educating children. My job is not just to teach them English, but to teach them about life, help them to see their potential, and give them the tools to reach it.
