Hello Palmer Bears!

My name is Mrs. Fukazawa, and I’m very excited to be your librarian this year! I have heard great things about the students and families at this school and I am very happy to be a part of your community.

Here is a little background about me:

I’m originally from Michigan, but I’ve been living in Texas for 15 years. I got my bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College. I'm working on my masters of library science degree at Texas Woman’s University and expect to graduate in December. 

Before becoming a librarian, I was a teacher for 11 years, and I taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.

I’m married and have twin daughters who are seven year old. We have two dogs and two cats.

In normal times, I play on a women’s soccer team and I like to travel. I speak Spanish, French, and Japanese. My current hobbies are reading and walking our dogs. 

I’m very excited about this new role, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!
