My name is Alana MousaviDin and I will be your English teacher for the 2019-2020 school year! I am absolutely fine with being called “Mrs. M.” because it’s what I am used to! I am very excited to have joined the Travis High English team and have been learning so much already.
A little bit about me:
I graduated from UH where I majored in Communications/Journalism and minored in English. I have worked in marketing but writing and editing are part of my “built-in” wiring. I am a published writer and editor for various manuscripts, print and online magazines, and newspapers. I have also done freelance work, proofreading everything from written and digital articles to college theses and legal and real estate documents. You could say I have a “thing” for words…
I am married and have four kids (two girls, two boys) who range from 26 down to 9; I am also a proud dog-mom to a bouncy Fuzzy Mutt Terrier named Ziggy! You will be hearing plenty about my family because I like to use realistic situations to bring certain concepts to heart. The school/family/home connection will help correlate the idea that education is beneficial regardless of location!
This year will be jam-packed with reading, writing, analyzing, discussions, projects, and of course, fun and laughter (you’ll learn best this way)!
