Hello!
Welcome to my page. I am so happy that you are here.
To provide you with a little about me. I am a native Texan. I grew up in Port Lavaca and then moved to Houston where I finished high school. I went to Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia where I received my bachelor's in Political Economy. Next, I obtained my master's in curriculum and instruction from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. It was in Atlanta where I began teaching 7th grade ELA and Reading. Upon my return to Houston, I continued my teaching career and obtained an additional Master's from University of Houston Clear Lake in Human Resources Management. Finally, I graduated with my doctorate from Texas A & M University with my Ph. D. in Human Resource Development.
Essentially, my teaching philosophy is that each of us are equipped and able to learn. We have the mental capacity and tools to be successful; therefore, I expect great things from each of you. I am so excited to be a part of the Ronald Thornton Middle School team. My return to 6th grade is a blessing and I look forward to working with each of you this coming school year.
See you in class!
Dr. Riley
