Welcome to Principles of Human Services! I am excited to be teaching this course at Christa Mcauliffe Middle School this year.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in French.
I am certified in English 7-12 and Family and Consumer Services 6-12, and have spent the previous three years teaching middle and high school English. Although this is my first year teaching PHS, I am excited to begin this new journey with my students.
Principles of Human Services is a project-based course that will enable students to investigate careers in the human services career cluster, including counseling and mental health, early childhood development, family and community and personal care services. The fee for this class is $20.
Students will receive a high school credit upon completion of PHS. Their high school GPA will be impacted through the grade in this course. PHS is filled with creative, interactive, and educational skills within the Human Services pathway, and leads to additional high school endorsements.
The Human Services classes are examples of Fort Bend ISD's motto to "Inspire, Equip, and Imagine!"
I look forward to working to working with you and your student this school year!
