I have a Master's degree in Bilingual Education and TESOL. Professionally, I taught English Language Arts and Reading and ESL for two years in Oklahoma. I have taught and been an administrator in ESOL for 20+ years. I am a certified teacher in Oklahoma for ESOL and I am a certified teacher in Texas in ESOL and English Language Arts and Reading. I speak Spanish as I lived in South America for about 5 years.

On the personal level, I moved to Texas 9 years ago. I am married and have 3 grown kids. I love all animals, but especially cats! I like to read, travel, watch the ID channel and Murdoch Mysteries, and listen to music.

I am from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I am a graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma and hold a teaching certificate from both Oklahoma and Texas with certificates in teaching English as a second language as well. I had the opportunity to learn Spanish when my husband and I lived in South America and I worked with students from all over the world when I taught at Houston Community College and San Jacinto College. I have been in Texas since 2014 when my husband was transferred with his job. We have 3 grown children and 2 cats. I enjoy traveling, reading (I’ve read about 8 books over the last several weeks--mysteries, love stories, and new beginnings), listening to music, and watching crime shows—I’m a forensic fan! Also, being from  Oklahoma I am a big University of Oklahoma Sooner football fan—Boomer Sooners! I came to Hightower HS in the spring of 2019 and I’m looking forward to another year teaching our kids!
