WELCOME TO 1st GRADE!
Our little leopards will learn and grow in the areas of reading, writing, and social studies in my classroom this year. I am a nurturing educator who is also passionate about developing social skills and building character traits in my students. I believe these life skills and traits are especially important at this age as they empower our children to be responsible citizens of not only the community but the world. I cannot wait to begin another amazing school year getting to know a new group of students and families!
As I begin my twentieth year of teaching and second at MYE, I look forward to embracing its namesake's vision that all children have the right to a quality education. We will aim for excellence as we allow our students to become the next generation of world changers.
I am proud of my attendance at both Wharton County Junior College and the University of Houston-Victoria where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Thereafter, I began my teaching career. My years of experience are in grade levels Kindergarten through 4th grade. As a lifelong learner, I strive to seek new methods of teaching to bring into the classroom.
I am very family-oriented and enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. When given the opportunity, I like to travel and learn about other cultures.
