Ms. Castillo

Our little leopards will learn and grow in the areas of reading, writing, and social studies in my classroom this school year.  I am a nurturing educator who is passionate about teaching students both academics and social skills.  I cannot wait to begin another amazing school year getting to know a new group of students and families!

As I begin the 2021-2022 school year in my twenty-first year of teaching and third at MYE, I look forward to embracing its namesake's vision that all children have the right to a quality education. We will aim for excellence as we allow our students to become the next generation of world changers.

Education & Background

I am proud of my attendance at both Wharton County Junior College, and the University of Houston-Victoria where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Thereafter, I began my teaching career.  My years of experience are in grade levels Kindergarten through 4th grade.  As a lifelong learner, I strive to seek new methods of teaching to bring into the classroom.

A little bit more about me...

I am very family-oriented and enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren.  When given the opportunity, I like to travel and learn about other cultures. I also enjoy, reading, watching movies, and listening to music.
