My name is La'Kisha Hawkins, and I'm really excited to be teaching 4th grade Reading, English Language Arts, and Social Studies to all of the amazing 4th graders in my classes.  I am an experienced teacher with 17 years of teaching and leading experience.  Teaching is a passion that was discovered as a result of becoming a parent and teaching my own children when they were younger.   As a young child, I struggled with reading and had a hard time keeping up with my work.  Thankfully I met a teacher that went the extra mile to teach me how to read and encouraged me to always do my best.  That is what I hope to be to each and everyone of my students- a teacher that cares and will go the extra mile to help you do 'your' best!
