My name is LaShawn Ballard, 5th grade Math and Science here at BBE. I am originally from Gary, Indiana, a hairstylist/platform artist by trade and I have just recently relocated to the Great State of Texas. 

This is my 10th year of teaching, 2nd at BBE and I absolutely LOVE what I do. I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Calumet College of Saint Joseph in Whiting Indiana and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion Indiana. Currently I am a Doctoral student at Liberty Univeristy in Lynchburg VA.  In my spare time I love shopping, reading and traveling.

I have taught grades 5th-8th , created 3 dance/step teams, 2 clubs and held several leadership positions in my previous district as well as state-level positions with the teachers union.
