I am currently in my second year of teaching and my first year here at Fort Settlement. Prior to being at Fort Settlement, I was a band director at Vogel Intermediate in Conroe ISD. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Houston, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian for Moores School of Music. During my time at the university, I was a proud member of Tau Beta Sigma, a music and service sorority in which I held several positions, a member of the Spirit of Houston, a member of the honors' academic society Phi Kappa Phi, and a graduate of the Honors' College at UH. I completed my student teaching in Fort Bend I.S.D. at Sartartia Middle School, and in Cy-Fair I.S.D. at Langham Creek High School.
Professionally, I have worked with students ages five through seventeen in various capacities. During the summer months, I worked as AMLD's Summer Camp Head Director, and during the school year I worked as a Resident Advisor and private lessons teacher at Galena Park High School and Middle School. I am professionally affiliated with Texas Music Educators Association. I'm an Austin, Texas native and a graduate of the McCallum High School Fine Arts Academy, a program which ultimately inspired me to turn my passion for music into a career. I reside in central Houston with my partner, Scott, and our two fluffy cats, Chaplin and Dashel.
