Hey Wildcats!
My name is Miss JENKINS, and I am the new Behavior Support Services Teacher (BSS) teacher for the 2023-24 school year.
This year marks my 6th year in Education and all five years have been in Special Education (SPED). I have taught Elementary and High School Resource and also Extended School Year BSS. My specialization is in ELAR, but I have taught Mathematics over the summer.
2024-25 is my second year at Mission West Elementary school and my second year as a Behavior Support Teacher.
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Information Systems in 2016, but have segway into education via my parents.
I am originally from Connecticut (Go Huskies!) and moved to Texas in 2017 with my parents. I began my career in education as a non-severe paraprofessional at Blue Ridge ES, then became a Resource teacher at Dulles and Hightower, and finally made my home at Mission West ES.
Besides teaching children social skills, my favorite activities/hobbies are: video games, learning/speaking French, using computer tech (hardware and software), writing, reading, visiting museums, and taking walks in nature...oh and traveling!
