Welcome to 7th and 8th Grade Math Lab at Missouri City Middle School.  I am excited about being a Cougar and representing my city, Missouri (Mo.) City!  This is my 15th year teaching under a certificate and my 21st year in the classroom.  I am a product of Fort Bend ISD, as I have attended Briargate Elementary, Christa McAuliffe Middle School and I graduated from "The Ridge", Willowridge High School.  I have obtained a BS degree in Biology from Texas Southern University via an academic scholarship through the Frederick Douglas Honors Program, while also playing baseball.  To be honest, I was the student in school who said, "I'll never be a teacher".  As the saying goes, "never say never, because you never know".  Obviously, I was wrong.  Although I tried to resist by being a Biology Major endeavoring to become a veterinarian initially, which changed to an anesthesiologist mid-college career, and finally wanting nothing to do with medicine when I graduated.  This led me to substitute teaching in FBISD.  I recognized that as a scholar, I had a great foundation to be a teacher.  Putting that with my desire to help others succeed and be a beacon of positivity, I decided that "I am a teacher" and I went through the certification process. 

Fast forward to now, I have learned that I am more than a teacher, I am an educator.  As such, this 2022-2023 school year at MCMS, where we are going from "Good To Great, Whatever It Takes"!  We are committed to putting in the work it takes to grow and succeed, as students and professionals.  We are utilizing a "growth mindset" to improve ourselves and others, as we promote community.  We are working to be C.H.A.M.P.s (Courageous Humans Always Making Progress).  Expect to be motivated to do more than before as we expand ourselves to meet our full potential and represent our current "We, Not Me"!
