Bring Your Own Device
What is BYOD wireless? BYOD stands for “Bring Your Own Device”. The District technology staff has made substantial improvements to the District wireless network over the last 3 years. BYOD is the next step in enhancing digital instruction at FBISD and is being implemented to support Teaching and Learning’s Blended Learning initiative.
Where is wireless available: Wireless is available at all FBISD campuses and support sites. Wireless service is available 24/7 to those with existing credentials except during planned maintenance and unplanned outages. The service to register new Visitor accounts will be limited to campus and support site working hours due to a required confirmation from staff.
Who can connect: Staff and visitors with login credentials can connect personal devices to the BYOD wireless network. Staff with district-issued devices will connect to the internal wireless system. The correct network being broadcast is FBISD_BYOD. Students can connect to the BYOD network using their FBISD username and password on personal devices.

For an optimal user experience please refer to the list of suggested devices when making a purchasing decision. This list will be updated periodically to reflect changing wireless and computing standards. Fort Bend ISD is providing the BYOD network for personal devices to connect to, but is not responsible for the operation and support of these devices.
