Mrs. Jill Howell

I am married to my college sweetheart, Brad, and have lived in Sienna Plantation since 2000. We have four daughters, ages 19, 17, 15, and 11. Megan, our oldest, is a freshman at Texas Tech. Addie is a junior and Emma Kate, a sophomore, both at Ridge Point High School. And our youngest daughter, Julia, is a 6th grader at RTMS. We also have three dogs, a kitty, and a fish. I am a lover of coffee, books, blogging, reading, good conversation, my people, color, and words. I love to be creative and I love to write and encourage.

I felt a call back to the classroom over the last couple of years and began subbing this past spring. I am thrilled with the opportunity to join the BMS staff full-time and start my career again in 7th grade ELA! I have a passion for books, reading, and writing, and I believe that a firm foundation in literacy is integral to learning in all subjects. I believe in the importance of good communication. I believe that our youth have a difficult world to make their way through and they need all the encouragement and guidance that they can get. And I believe that in my classroom, I can use my experiences, interests, and passions to teach these skills and truths to my students.

As I said, I value good conversation and communication. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any feedback, questions, or concerns you may have. I am partnering with you to teach, grow, and bring out the best in your child this year. We are better together!
