I will be teaching 7th grade Texas History at First Colony Middle School. I got my start in education as a secretary at Austin High School. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook’em Horns. I am excited to teach Texas History, since I have travel all over the Great State of Texas for work and pleasure.
Occasionally during the summer, I spend time with Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Texas Speleological Association, the National Parks Service, and/or National Geographic. The picture here is one of me after training with the Austin Fire Department for Cave Search and Rescue.
Fun fact: My highest climb to date has been the Iztaccihuatl Volcano in Mexico with an elevation of 17,160 ft. The highest peak in Texas is 8,750ft at Guadalupe Peak. The highest point in North America is Mt. McKinley/ Denali at 20,237ft. I am getting there.
