I’m a “naturalized” Texan – technically, I was born south of the Mason-Dixon line, but for all practical purposes, I had a Yankee childhood. Our family moved a lot when I was young. In 1979, we moved to Austin, Texas, where I stayed until 2010. It was there that I went to college (Hook ‘Em Horns!) and earned my first degree, a B.S. in Communications-Advertising, and later went back to earn my B.F.A. in Visual Art Studies. I started teaching PK-2nd art in 2003 in Georgetown ISD. In 2011, I began teaching junior high art and HS Art I for Katy ISD. Fast forward to now, and I'm in my fourth year in FBISD and my first find at Dulles High School! A few years ago, I moved to the quiet city of El Campo, where I can escape the city, enjoy our cats and dogs, saltwater fish in Matagorda Bay on the weekends, grow veggies in our giant garden, go on motorcycle rides, and of course, create art. In past years, I’ve been an active member of local art associations, participated in numerous group art shows, and sold most of my paintings; I even illustrated a children’s book, which was super fun! I’m looking forward to once again getting involved in the arts community where I work and live.
