I am beyond excited for my third school year as part of the Viking Family where I will serve as the Principles of Human Services teacher, Yearbook Advisor and Student Council Sponsor. I was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan. I received my Bachelors from Western Michigan University in 2012 and relocated to Houston shortly after. Before joining the FBISD team in 2017, I was teaching middle school in Cy-Fair ISD and also earned my Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University. This is my seventh year of teaching and I am honored to be spending the 19-20 school year with the awesome eighth graders at Dulles MS.
Principles of Human Service (PHS) is a fantastic high school credit course that provides our eighth grade students with the opportunity to explore personal development, kitchen safety and sanitation, families/child development, and multiple areas of design. This course also provides students with many lab opportunities and hands-on activities.
This is the second year that our students at Dulles MS and I have had the opportunity to participate in a Yearbook course and really take some ownership over the campus yearbook. Students will learn basic journalism skills, how to navigate publishing software, and meet deadlines.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of doing things The Viking Way and assisting our students in owning their learning!
