Hello friends! My is name Shelly Johnson. Our classroom is a learning environment that promotes fun, growth, and a sense of family. I was inspired by my first-grade teacher (Ms. Cotton) to pursue teaching and implement the same welcoming atmosphere I felt in her classroom. My students know they are important. I will reinforce this to all of my students daily, by Ms. Johnson’s Daily Classroom Pledge. In my seventh year of teaching, I served as a professional development mentor, presented workshops for new teachers, and have taken an active role in the community by being an advocate for people who suffer from Diabetes. I am also the author of the book, “I Am Not Afraid Surviving Type One Diabetes”. Dedicated to my daughter who is thriving with type one diabetes. Now in my 12th year of teaching I am so excited to be your child’s teacher! This will be a phenomenal year.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State! EAT EM’ UP KATS!
I earned my graduate degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction.
We will build strong readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and whatever any student desires! It is within their reach!
