I am a teaching artist who creates interactive learning spaces to unveil the possibilities of movement. I graduated from Texas State University (TXST) with a BFA in Dance and a Secondary Teaching Certification. While attending TXST, I served as a member of the TXST Strutters (2007-2011) and was named the first African American Captain for this collegiate dance team. With the TXST Strutters, I performed in New York City, Santiago, Chile, and Spain. Most recently, I studied at Texas Woman's University where I received my MFA in Dance degree.
As an educator, I have taught various workshops and intensives in the Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and the DFW Metroplex. My specialties include Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop. Currently, I am the Dance Instructor/Head Hi-Lite Director at Hightower High School as well as the Fine Arts Department Head where I continue to expand upon my practice as an artist, educator, and performer.
