Miss Ashley Buchly

Howdy! My name is Ashley Buchly, and I teach 7th grade English/Language Arts. After growing up in Bryan/College Station my entire life, I attended Texas A&M University from 2009-2013. I completed my student teaching semester in Amarillo, TX where I recieved the "Always Expect More of Aggie Teachers" award. During the spring of 2014, I worked as a Reading Interventionist with 4th graders at Lakeview Elementary in Canyon, TX. During my first year at SLMS, I was named "Rookie Teacher of the Year". I am currently a graduate student through West Texas A&M University working on my M. Ed. Curriculum & Instruction with an Educational Diagnostician's certificate. This will be my fifth year at Sugar Land Middle School, and I am so excited to help my students grow each day!

I truly believe that every child is a blessing who has much to offer this world. I have very high expectations for all of my students. I hope to not only teach my 7th graders reading and writing, but also how to be a good and respectful person. In my free time I love to read, sew, travel, spend time with my pets, and root for the Aggies!
