Ms. Doris White
It is with great enthusiasm that I am teaching in Fort Bend Independent School District (Fort Bend ISD). I am an Alumni of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Currently I’m in the process of obtaining my Masters in Counseling at Prairie View A&M University. I’m fully certified with my Texas Certification for grades EC-6 Generalist. I graduated from Alief ISD in Houston, Texas and plan on continuing to reside in the City of Houston.
Prior to graduation, I completed my student teaching with a third grade ESL all subjects self-contained class at Calvert Elementary in Aldine ISD. In my third grade class, I gained full experience in which my cooperating teacher allowed me to be the full responsibility teacher in all aspects. From rewards and discipline to seating arrangements and classroom management tactics I wanted to use. I was given so much experience, I was able to connect, learn, and have a relationship with my students. With what I understood of my students, I was able to develop lesson plans that accommodated the different learning styles and was able to grasp all of my students.
In addition to student teaching third grade, I also student taught a first grade class all subjects at Anderson Academy in Aldine ISD. It was very rewarding as well. I was able to use my imagination more and they would completely enjoy it and ask for more. As an educator, it is my goal to help the students feel comfortable in their classroom environment, take ownership of their learning, and pushing them beyond their comfort zones to believe they can do more.
Additionally, when given the opportunity to work at Blackshear Elementary School in Houston Independent School District (HISD), I had no choice but to excel. We the teachers, staff and community had to put our heads together to overcome and teach the scholars who are underserved. Teaching at Blackshear Elementary gave me the drive to go the extra mile for the scholars who needed the extra support, while working weekly and Saturday tutorials. I do not believe in giving up, I pushed my scholars to be their complete best. Teaching multiple grades at Blackshear Elementary taught me to be flexible and well prepared. I have been given many of the skills need to become a strong, tireless teacher with a meticulous attitude needed to be a leader for the community.
Whereas, I strongly believe I am persistent, diligent, determined, hardworking, and dedicated to my scholars to help close the gap. The scholars give me more passion and drive to success then I ever thought. To see the success of scholars that I worked with is one of the most fulfilling and gratifying state of mind that I could ever ask feel also, see.
