I am so happy to be teaching at Colony Meadows Elementary School! I was born and raised in London, England, where I grew up with my parents and two sisters. While traveling and working in Israel after high school, I met my husband, Dan, from St Louis! Later, we married and lived in Israel for three years, where I taught Kindergarten, First and Third grade at the American International School in Tel Aviv. In 1993, we moved to St. Louis and then Chicago, where I taught third grade. I took a break from teaching to raise my children, Rebecca, now 26 (living and working in Austin) , and Alex, 22, who just graduated from UT Austin. During that time, I studied and completed my master’s degree in Literacy Education.

My husband's work brought us to Houston in 2007, and we now live in New Territory. After working as a substitute teacher for FBISD for several years, I returned to the classroom full time six years ago. I love 4th graders, and I am excited about teaching ELA & Social Studies with my fabulous Math & Science partner, Mr. Prachar.  

Teaching is my passion. I love building strong, positive relationships with my students and their families while creating lessons that engage and ignite a love for learning. With strong communication and collaboration between teachers, parents, and students, I am dedicated to ensuring a successful, positive year of high-quality learning.
